Crystalbrook Lodge

The lake, some 300 acres in size, is haven to a staggering range of wildlife including birds, freshwater crocodiles and fish; a nature lover's paradise, guests can spend days on the lake or riverside, exploring the bush wilderness or just enjoying the serenity and stillness of the outback in the lodge’s private manicured grounds. Keen fishermen will be hooked on giant barramundi or heli-fishing in the gulf rivers. Here in "big sky" country,  the colours of dawn and dusk bookend nature's daily theatre.

Accommodating only 10 guests in 5 Courtyard Suites, the lodge is a private retreat from which to explore this outback wilderness.

Accommodation at the lodge comprises a total of 5 Courtyard Suites, available to a capacity of 10 people based on twin/double share accommodation.

An outback mecca for keen fishermen and nature lovers, the lodge sits perched over a 300 acre-lake. Like a vast outback oasis, this spectacular lake attracts a staggering array of wildlife including sea eagles, pelicans, jabirus, freshwater crocodiles, barramundi and Black Bream to name a few. You can spend your days on the lake or riverside, exploring the bush wilderness or just enjoying the serenity and stillness of the outback in the lodge’s private manicured grounds.

Guests are free to be as active as they wish...    or just relax poolside in this Outback Oasis.  The lodge host will assist with the choice fo the day's adventures included as part of any stay..

Take an electric boat or kayak to explore the lake - full of fish and wildlife.

Visit the classic old Crystalbrook Station homestead and cattle yards - still the working hub of the property - for afternoon tea and scones on the verandah.

Wander along bush trails for a nature walk - birdwatchers will love the profusion of water birds as well as sightings of kangaroos, goannas and maybe a herd of wild brumbies.

An expedition into Chillagoe- one of the most diverse geological areas in the world- to see the extraordinary Mungana Rock Art, limestone caves followed by lunch at the quintessentially Aussie pub, or just relax by the Magna wet edge pool – rich in health giving magnesium salts.

Food and Wine

Outdoor dining in a stunning setting overlooking the lake or under a perenially clear sky filled with stars features a menu offering the best of the rich local produce of the region - tropical  fruits and vegetables from the Atherton Tablelands, wild barramundi and grass-fed beef.
