Wolgan Valley is rich in cultural, environmental and historical significance. The resort is steeped in history – from ancient Aboriginal times to the presence of an 1832 Heritage Homestead restored to its original glory and a connection to Charles Darwin - who visited the Wolgan Valley in 1836.

Guests are invited to take part in numerous excursions, based on the incredible beauty of the location, its wildlife and ecology, archaeology and both settler and aboriginal history. Activities include 4x4 safaris, night wildlife spotting, horse riding, mountain biking, bush walking, heritage and aboriginal interpretation tours.

Activities are offered at various skill and fitness levels as well as personal interests, and are suitable for older guests, families, and highly active, more adventurous visitors. From enjoying a lunch together in absolute solitude alongside a forest creek; to a father and son late-night BBQ under the stars; or a social sundowner with friends after an afternoon four-wheel drive excursion, the Wolgan Valley experience is likely to remain alive in memories long after.

To perfect the wellbeing experience, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa features tennis courts and a pool building which includes a fully-equipped gymnasium, a steam room and sauna, a plunge pool and an indoor / outdoor relaxation deck. Food and Wine

The culinary experiences offered by Executive Chef Dwane Goodman are refined but unpretentious, and the food celebrates the unique range of local produce, with each meal featuring simple flavour combinations and high quality ingredients handled with great technique.

Quality ingredients and fresh produce that compete on a global scale are sourced daily, courtesy of the resort’s unparalleled location in regional New South Wales, surrounded by award-winning vineyards in Orange, Mudgee and the Hunter Valley; boutique meat and dairy producers in the Blue Mountains; and a wide range of orchards and herb farms in Windsor and the Hawkesbury River – a region which has historically played a key role as Sydney's 'Food Bowl'.

This unique location also makes it possible for the Chef to create new and exciting dishes out of niche local produce that most larger hotels and restaurants will not have access to, making the guest experience even more special.

Exploring natural and local produce has enabled Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa to establish sound farm-to-fork practices. Wherever possible, the resort aims to source the majority of its produce and ingredients within a hundred miles, providing the finest in culinary dining experience whilst supporting local producers such as Mandagery Creek farmed venison in Orange, Lakelands organic olive oils and Ormiston free range pork in Mudgee, Whisk & Pin gourmet mueslis in the Blue Mountains and Malfroy’s Gold honey in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales. And of the 300 Australian and international wines on the resort’s wine list, close to 30 percent hail from the Orange, Mudgee and Hunter Valley regions.
